resulted in David
becoming one of the most popular and respected
Toastmasters in the UK.† With his kind and caring nature, it seemed a very

Q. Can we legally marry outside?
A. No. In England the law states that the marriage ceremony must take place inside a building that is licensed for marriages such as a Registry Office, Church or Approved Venue. It is the building that is licensed, not the celebrant.
The Circle of Life Ceremony can take place anywhere, inside a building (licensed or not licensed), outside in the open air. Once the legalities have taken place at a register office/venue, the couple may hold a ceremony anywhere they wish without restriction.
Q. Can we legally marry in the garden, forest on a boat, aeroplane or hot air balloon?
A. No. In England the law states that the licensed room must be a fixed and a permanent structure.
The Circle of Life Ceremony can take place in and upon any structure fixed, moving or temporarily erected. Remember, the legalities must have taken place at a licensed building beforehand.
Q. Can we have our marriage blessed at the same time as our civil ceremony at an approved venue?
A. No. A venue has to declare that it has no connection with any religious organization and will not offer religious services or blessings as part of their wedding package.
The Circle of Life Ceremony can include a blessing within the same service, or can take place immediately after a civil ceremony.
Q. Are there any restrictions to the time we can choose to hold our ceremony and the length of time for the service?
A. Yes. Marriages have to legally take place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and the registration service will allocate a time of 15 - 20 minutes for each ceremony. A number of ceremonies may be performed on the day you choose restricting your choice of time.
The Circle of Life Ceremony can take place at any time of the day or night. The Ceremony will be designed with you in mind to your personal requirements including the time and length of service.
I only take one booking per day therefore there are no time restraints.
Q. Are there any restrictions on witnesses and guests that can attend and take part in the ceremony?
A: Yes. The registration service will limit the witnesses normally to 2 adults over the age of 18 years, and guest participation is limited with strict control over the content of enhancements (i.e. music, poetry etc).
The Circle of Life Ceremony you may have as many witnesses as you wish with no age or language restrictions. You may have an unlimited number of guests to be involved in your ceremony. The choice is completely yours.
